Trip Information
Captain Michael “Mike” Ford specializes in Salmon, Trout, and Striper fishing. He runs boat charters on the Hudson River and Lake Ontario. He also leads a guide service on the Salmon River. He holds both a USCG Master and New York State Guide License and knows all the sweet spots to land you a trophy. All charter trips include all of the necessary equipment needed to get the job done.
Your boat for the day is 31’ Rampage walkaround, equipped with top-quality navigational instruments, outriggers, downriggers, and a live bait tank. She accommodates up to 6 guests and has plenty of seating space to relax if you want to take a break from fishing. There’s also an onboard toilet, making her convenient for those extra-long trips.
When heading out from Mexico Bay, you will travel down the Little Salmon River into Lake Ontario. Here you will be able to fish for Salmon, Brown trout, and Lake trout. Occasionally you will find Steelhead and Atlantic Salmon.

Capt. Mike also specializes in fly fishing and has all the necessary gear if you’d like to give it a try on the Salmon River. Although it can be challenging, it is extremely fun to try and catch a Salmon or Trout with a fly rod! You’ll be provided with top-of-the-line rods and reels, as well as bait and lures. Just be sure to purchase your fishing license before the trip and you’re good to go.

Lake Ontario Charters
If you like fishing on lakes, this trip is for you! Fishing on Lake Ontario runs from June-September. Sail out on an exclusive boat with top of the line fish finder technology. Salmon, steelhead, lake trout, and brown trout are plentiful in Lake Ontario.
This trip accommodates up to 6 people and all equipment is provided*.
*Be sure to purchase your NYS Fishing License prior to the trip.

Hudson River Charters
Enjoy fishing for striped bass on a private boat on the beautiful Hudson River. Relax with friends or bring the family! Fishing on the Hudson runs from mid April-May.
This trip accommodates up to 6 people and equipment is provided.

Salmon River Fishing
Enjoy a full day of fishing on the Salmon River! Fishing on the Salmon River runs from September-March. You'll target a variety of species, including Chinook and Coho Salmon, steelheads, and brown trout. All gear and tackle are provided, just be sure to purchase a NYS Fishing License, pack some food and drinks, and get ready to catch some trophy fish!
*Before you arrive for your trip make sure you have a valid NYS Fishing license. This is required to fish!
